Today (Saturday, July 18th) the chicks are around seven weeks old. Or to be exact:

Merin (female we think) is 50 days old

Celyn (female) is 48 days old

Brenig (male) is 46 days old

When will they fly for the first time?

The aim is simple enough - Guess the day and time (to the nearest minute) that the first osprey will fledge. It doesn't matter which one fledges first. "Saturday 18th at 11:35" would be one guess.

Definition of fledging: Merin, Celyn or Brenig leaves the confines of the nest in a controlled flight and either lands back on the nest or another location, including the nest perch. In other words, a prolonged 'helicopter' flight does not constitute fledging.

Merin (W1) is the oldest - will she fledge first?

To enter, just donate a minimum of £2 or more per guess using the donate buttons on the Live Streaming page. All the money goes towards funding the Dyfi Osprey Project (Preferably, please use the BT MyDonate button - they don't take a cut and you can also Gift Aid which adds another 25% to your donation). All donations will go towards running DOP.

The nearest guess will win a First Prize - a photographic print of Merin, Brenig and Celyn (in that order), below. Merin (left) has obviously thought up a sneaky trick to stop her brother and sister from fledging first..
