Mother's Day Delight

Telyn Arrives, First Fish of the Season

Telyn has made it home safely.

Just as most of us (in the UK) were thinking about turning the clocks forward when it got dark last night, we had signed off 30th March as a no osprey day.

Telyn had other ideas.

At 19:27 she returned to her breeding nest from her winter migration and roosted on the birch perch all night. Today she has been fighting off other birds, mostly crows, the odd gull and and a rather mischievous buzzard.

Monty always arrives in April so we're expecting him back anytime tomorrow onwards.

Here's a quick video of Telyn's first few hours with us in 2019 culminating in her first Welsh fish - a mullet - of the season:

If you are new to the Dyfi Osprey project, you can watch the nest live either directly on Youtube or on this website.

Our Live Streaming Appeal is almost 75% of the way there - many thanks.
