Guess the Date and Time the First Chick Will Hatch

Welcome to the Guess the Chick Hatching Competition!

Guess the date and time that the first chick will hatch. Each guess has a minimum donation of £2 and all of that donation will go towards running the Dyfi Osprey Project. We have a Paypal button now too if you prefer Paypal (but please use the MyDonate button if you pay tax in the UK and can Gift Aid, that’s another 25% added to your donation by the tax man). You can have as many guesses as you like!!

Keep Calm and Look Up

A few tips:

1. Normal incubation for ospreys is between 35 - 42 days

2. The incubation period depends on lots of factors - weather, time invested in incubation, how easily the chick managed to break free. Chicks usually hatch during daylight - but not always.

3. The actual time of hatching will be recorded as the very first time the chick is free and independent of its egg.

Make sure you say clearly your estimate - For example: “June 8th at 10:30 am".
