Could you help us pay for the Live Streaming this year please?

Operating our cameras and Live Streaming costs around £20,000 each season, and as you probably know by now, DOP does not receive any funding from the EU, government, NGOs or anywhere else. DOP 2020 will be operated purely by the donations and shop sales we receive.

Here are some of the improvements we're making this year:

• New professional shotgun microphone and wind-shield fitted under the nest
• New £4,000 professional-grade PTZ camera on the feeding perch for the first time, replacing the £80 trail-cam
• We will have two cameras Live Streaming, running simultaneously. We had problems with this last year (Youtube makes it overly complicated), we have a work-around
• We've been working with the BBC's Springwatch during the last few weeks - watch this space for more info in due course
• Live Streaming will be on both this website and on our DOP YouTube Channel
• Live Chat service available 24/7, and new for this year - we've managed to find a system that will completely eliminate the occasional nuisance trolls
• Live Streaming will NOT go off in early September, we'll keep going well into the autumn and winter

Can you help us with our camera appeal?

There are three ways you can donate:

1. Via the Virgin Giving Money button on the Live Streaming page (best, as and you can click a box for Gift Aid if you pay tax in the UK – another 25% is added to your amount by the tax wo/man)

2. Via the PayPal button on the Live Streaming page (but no Gift Aid and Paypal take around 3%)
