And Finally.... Chick No 2

And Finally.... Chick No 2

Second Chick Arrives!

After a mammouth hatching of 32 hours, the second chick has finally broken free of its egg shell and into the world.

The big moment happened just before 9pm on Sunday, June 30th, in the Welsh gloom and rain. By the following day the weather was much better and the newest arrival had its first feed by 5am. These two Dyfi chicks are some of the latest osprey chicks to hatch in the UK that we know of.

This is Monty's eighth chick in all and Glesni's second. The incubation times are:

Chick 1 = 37 Days (May 22nd - June 28th)
Chick 2 = 36 Days (May 25th - June 30th)

For daily updates please follow the Dyfi Ospreys on our Facebook page. You don't need to register or give any details - you can view it just like a normal website. We update our Twitter page most days also.
