At 11.15 this morning, Nora brought a large Mullet back to the nest. She's still catching her own fish, of course, as her mate, Monty, is yet to arrive.
Is it time to get worried yet? Certainly not, he came back last year on April 6th and he may well not arrive back for a while yet, although ospreys do tend to come back a little earlier once they have bred for the first time, as Monty did last year.
As I write, Nora still has the half-eaten fish on the T-perch just above the nest. The carrion crows have continued to harass her, being the opportunists they are.
Here is a quick video of Nora with her mullet. Please be advised that the video contains images of a half-eaten fish - viewer discretion is advised.
