On Sunday morning, June 26th, Monty brought a new species of fish back to the nest for the first time. Nora had clearly not seen one of these before!. This video shows some incredible behaviour as Nora deals with a Garfish for the first time.
A Dangerous Fish - A live Mullet brought back to the nest caused great worry when we watched this live in mid June. There are records of young osprey chicks being swiped clean out of their nest by a feisty fish. This is the footage that the BBC showed on their Autumnwatch series in 2011 - Chris Packham watching on in amazement!
Looking curiously behind him in a southerly direction, this was the last time we saw Einion, at 07.39 on the morning of August 31st he started his migration to Africa. Ten hours later he was in Plymouth.
On June 19th, 2011, all three osprey chicks were ringed and tagged. Here, whilst tagging Einion for the BBC's Autumnwatch series, Roy Dennis talks about some of the dangers osprey encounter on their migration.
On August 21st we filmed one of the several intruding ospreys that visited the Dyfi nest during 2011, this time an unringed male osprey - possibly a non breeding bird on his way down from Scotland
